Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 July 2026

This is the privacy policy for REM Technologies UK ("we", "us", "our"). It's written in plain English because legalese helps nobody. If anything is unclear, email us and we'll explain.

Who we are

REM Technologies UK is a digital studio based in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the data controller for any personal data you give us.

Contact: hello@rem-tech.org

What data we collect

We collect the minimum data we need to do the job. Specifically:

  • If you contact us via the website form: your name, email, company (optional), which service you're interested in (optional), and the message you send.
  • If we work together on a project: contact details, billing information (held by our accountant/accounting software), and project-related communications.
  • Standard server logs: when you visit this website, our hosting provider may log basic technical data (your IP address, the page you visited, the time of your visit) for security and performance monitoring. These logs are automatically deleted after 30 days.

We do not use third-party tracking scripts, advertising cookies, or analytics that profile you across sites.

Why we collect it

We use the data you give us to:

  • Reply to your enquiry and discuss a potential project.
  • Deliver the work we've agreed to do.
  • Meet our legal and accounting obligations (e.g. invoicing, tax records).

How long we keep it

  • Enquiry data: up to 12 months after our last conversation, then deleted.
  • Project data + invoices: 7 years (UK HMRC requirement).
  • Server logs: 30 days, then automatically deleted.

Who else sees it

We share your data only with the third-party services we use to run REM. These are:

  • Cloudflare — DNS, CDN and hosting infrastructure (privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy).
  • Our domain registrar — to register and manage our domain (privacy-redacted WHOIS).
  • Our email provider — to send and receive email.
  • Our accounting software — for invoices and tax records.

We never sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't pass it to "partners" for marketing.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Ask what data we hold about you (a "subject access request").
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Ask us to delete your data (where we have no legal reason to keep it).
  • Object to processing or ask us to restrict it.
  • Complain to the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) if you think we're mishandling your data.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@rem-tech.org. We respond within one month.

Cookies

This website does not set any non-essential cookies. We don't use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking. No cookie banner is needed because there's nothing to consent to.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll notify active contacts directly.
